Microsoft Screws Over the Consumer, Again

Microsoft’s long awaited Operating System, Vista, has some horrible restrictions in it. In the Vista Licence, it says that you can only install Vista twice. Most of you think so what? This is the most blatent money squeeze Microsoft could have done. If you take proper care of your computer, you reinstall XP every year or so to clean the thing up. You have to do that because every time a program is installed in XP, it leaves a registry entry, and that isn’t removed. Also Xp fills up with viruses and spyware really easily. What Microsoft has done is make every user who wants to use their computer without massive slowdowns pay twice or three times for the same piece of software. This can really add up if you buy the Ultimate version of Vista, which is rumored to cost $400. Just think, after 2 HDD wipes you have to pay $400, or the price of an ultra high end video card. It should be pretty obvious that this is not an antipiracy measure and simply a cash grab. If M$ wants to eliminate software piracy, they could just ping your computer every 2 weeks and make sure that 2 computers aren’t using the same licence. In fact, I’m sure they do something like this already with their Trusted Computing program. This might action might be a violation of U.S. law, although I am by no means a legal expert. The EU HATES M$ and will probably stop this in Europe. More here.
