E3… Cancelled?

Sunday, July 30th, 2006

It appears now that there might not be an E3 2007. The reason given, economic issues, does not appear to be very likely, but we’ll see either Monday or Tuesday if the news is true or not. Personally, I hope it’s not, but we’ll see. There are plenty of other issues surrounding E3, so there might be plenty of reason to cancel it. If there is no more E3, it’d be interesting to see if anything big pops up, or if there will be more small shows (such as Nintendo bringing Space World back as a yearly event). or if nothing at all happens and we just learn to live without the biggest yearly event in gaming. Contest #1

Friday, July 28th, 2006

Ok, the first site contest….

Name the spear dude!

Take the guy with the spear, and give him a name. Spear dude

Whoever gives him the best name (I am the judge) will win a super special prize. Post your ideas in a comment (or, if you want to be secrative about it, e-mail them to briguyd@attackthesun.com. The contest will end when I find an acceptable name, so get your entries in early for the best chance of winning!

Also, if you can think of a prize, let me know. I’ll think of something if you don’t, but your ideas might be better.

So what are you waiting for!? Get out that book of baby names your parents have on their bookshelf, with all the girl names circled, hoping you would turn out to be something you aren’t. Go!

Pave Oak Park

Thursday, July 27th, 2006

After this link was pointed out to me by Nate, I now fully officially support the ideas presented by PaveOakPark.com. These amy or amy not include the folowing:

  1. Paving over a good part of Oak Park, Illinois to increase traffic flow.
  2. Complete destruction of the little wildlife left in suburban areas of Chicago.
  3. Forcing people from Oak Park out of their homes.
  4. Killing babies.
  5. Adding a nuclear power plant to Oak Park’s “nuclear-free zone”.
  6. Adding a McDonald’s to the only remaining area of unpaved Oak Park.
  7. Increasing traffic flow and, therefore, pollution levels.
  8. Driving really, really fast.
  9. Creating jobs (while destroying families and their homes).
  10. Profit!!!

I hope to see this proposal passed within five years and (de)construction to start immediately after. Keep your fingers crossed or hold your breath. Whatever it is that works for you.

The only downside to this that I see is that my high school is right next to the nuclear power plant, so I may die of radiation poisoning. Well, at least I’ll be able to get to the hospital really quickly.

New Site

Tuesday, July 25th, 2006

So today I bought this domain and set it up and everything. I got a great deal on it, so I’m happy. I now need some ideas on what to do with this site, besides the blog, of course. Any and all suggestions are greatly appreciated.

So later I have to make a new template for this. It’ll be cool and I already have some ideas in my head. I just have a few details to work out, then I’ll start work on that.

But before I work on cosmetics, I have to finish getting FTP, email, WordPress, and all that set up, so that may take a little longer, but I’m almost done. God, I’m going to have fun with this site.

I’ll post maybe tomorrow on where the name came from. Until then, I hope you enjoy the site and come back often, and even more often when it’s all finished.

For those new to this site, all these posts have been transfered from my Blogger account

Toothbrush From Hell

Wednesday, July 12th, 2006
I took my Oral-B CrossAction Power toothbrush ($5) and decided that the one tiny AA battery inside just wasn’t enough. A few trips to RadioShack and four batteries later, I have created the “Toothbrush From Hell”. This is what I spend my weekends on…Parts include:

Oral-B Toothbrush - $5
AA Batteries (4) - $3
Switch - ~$2
Battery Holder - ~$2
Wiring - ~$cheap
Solder - ~$cheap
Rubberbands - ~$cheap

I should probably add some shrink wrap before I use it, so I don’t shock the inside of my mouth when I use it.

Now I’m going to find a way to attach the brush head to my Dremel!
